A Xarão – Companhia Portuguesa de Licores, Lda. is certified by SGS ICS, entity that is responsible for the attribution of certifications, with the international standard FSSC 22000.
With the attribution of this new certificate, Xarão continues to be a pioneer in the sector.
In 2012 it was a pioneer in its sector when it was certified by SGS with the ISO 22000 standard, but aiming at the constant search for improvement, in 2017 it was certified by SGS with the FSSC 22000 standard.
FSSC 22000 presents one of the most comprehensive approaches to food safety management systems for those involved in food manufacturing.
Because it is based on ISO 22000, the new standard seamlessly integrates with other quality management systems, making it an integral part of food manufacturing organizations’ ability to improve quality and ensure safety.
The FSSC 22000 combines the benefits of a business management tool linked to food safety and business processes with the ability to meet global customer requirements in the face of GFSI approved food safety systems certification.
The standard combines key elements such as:
• Interactive communication
• Management system
• Hazard control for food safety through prerequisite programs and HACCP plans
• Continuous improvement and updating of the food safety management system
